Frequently Asked Questions
Our Scout Troop meets on Tuesdays from 7.15 pm to 8.45 pm during school term time. Timeliness is crucial, so please ensure that Scouts arrive promptly and are collected on time. If there are any delays in collecting your child, kindly inform the scouters in advance. Occasionally, we may need to adjust the meeting times to align with our program activities. In such cases, we will communicate the changes through our WhatsApp group. Unless otherwise specified, all Scouts should be dropped off and picked up from the foyer of Huntstown Community Centre. We kindly request that parents remain with their child until the required ratio of leaders is available, as cancellations may be necessary if we don’t have sufficient leaders present.
To cover the costs associated with our activities, subs until Christmas 2023 have been reduced to €60 due to limited use of the Huntstown Community Centre. From January to June 2024, subs will be an additional €110. New members are also required to pay Scouting Ireland Insurance of €65 during the November Annual General Meeting (AGM). Subs should be paid online through bank transfer, ensuring that you include your child’s name as the reference on the transaction. For our records, please email the Group Treasurer at 179huntstowntreasurer@gmail.com with information about your chosen payment frequency. Alternatively, subs payments can be made directly to David Maguire via Revolut, including your child’s name and reason for payment.
As Scouts, we take pride in wearing our uniform. The following items are essential and can be purchased online at https://thescoutshop.ie/:

For your convenience, you can visit the OAS store on Liffey Street, Dublin, or Bray to try on the uniform before placing an online order.
